The European Poker Tour continues to chug along in 2019 using a recent stop in Barcelona pulling in record numbers to the online poker tour.
The almost two-week poker festival started with the 1,100 National Championship drawing on a listing 4,682 admissions to create a prize pool of $4.5 million.
On the other end of the schedule poker player Simon Brandstrom outlasted 1,988 entries in the 5,300 Main Event to take a decoration of 1,290,166 down. The Main Event has been the largest in the history.
Barcelona FC celebrities Gerard Piqu?? along with Arturo Vidal also both managed to money in the 25,000 Single-Day High Roller while playing on home turf.
This was all in addition to the surprise announcement of this PokerStars NL Hold’em Players Championship (PSPC), which will occur as part of EPT Barcelona at 2020.
Swedish poker ace Simon Brandstrom is the biggest Event winner in EPT Barcelona’s background.
Brandstrom outlasted almost 2,000 admissions to take down an impressive $1.29 million. It’d have been even more had he made a heads-up deal with Hungarian poker pro Marton Czuczor, that salvaged $1.25 million for his efforts.
The table also included Swedish poker ace Johan Storakers along with English specialist Kully Sidhu. As it took just one hour to move into 2 from six players the table was also one of the quickest in the history of the EPT.
Heads-up play went on for 2 more hours before Brandstrom was able to land the knockout punch.

There is a very long history of athletes playing poker but the success stories are few and far between.
Gerard Piqu?? would be among the exceptions.
Last week the Spanish footballer ended second at the elite $25,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em High Roller championship at EPT Barcelona.
The $25k tournament drew a few of the best poker players in the world but Piqu?? found a means around every one of them except eventual winner Juan Dominguez.
He seems to be advancing although it was the single most significant money in the poker profession of Piqu??. In 2017 he finished fifth. In general, he has $668,155 in tournament earnings that are live.
What’s most striking about the success at the poker table of Piqu?? is he is doing it while still playing soccer at a degree that is world-class. Athletes don’t get into poker until their athletic careers are completed. Not for Piqu??, who is managed to fit EPT Barcelona.
Piqu?? wasn’t even the Barcelona FC participant as teammate Arturo Vidal finished fifth to get home $134,460 to money in the 25k High Roller.

Millions of poker players are qualified by pokerStars for the PSPC, making it among the most value-packed championships in poker. Ranked poker player Ramon Colillas took great advantage of this PSPC that winter and won $5.1 million.
In this year’s EPT Barcelona, PokerStars announced it had qualified five players for the 2020 PSPC as a part of their organization’s Chase Your Fantasy marketing.
So the 2020 edition of the stop could potentially reach historical levels with many documents once again set to be broken up in the poker festival EPT Barcelona is already one of the most densely tournaments in the EPT schedule.
