He did the best with what he had to use in D.C., and exactly what he had was taken away by injuries and budget-cutting. Gruden is nevertheless this years first head coaching casualty in the NFL; Bill Callahan will be under the headset this Sunday when Washington visit the Miami Dolphins (1:00 p.m. ET, FOX).
Discuss easing into a role. The Dolphins (0-4 SU and ATS) are tanking the 2019 period away, so as poorly as Washington (0-5 SU, 1-4 ATS) have performed this season, theyre going at our NFL picks for Week 6 as 3.5-point street faves. It is a moral imperative.

Messed up indeed. It isnt just the Dolphins, though; their use of 3 different quarterbacks has thrown off the amounts of Washington. Case Keenum was playing slightly above league average (as stated by the DVOA stats in Football Outsiders) before injuring his foot early in Week 4 — much to our chagrin here at the office. Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy were both awful in relief.
Here comes the cavalry: Keenum is predicted to begin this though nothings been made official at press time. Keenum is not the problem here — and that vitriol simply increases Washingtons betting value, although he may have been booed by the home crowd.
Not that he will be asked to do much. Callahan says hes going to place some more running into the crime, asserting that Gruden manners were excessive. Was match? A whole lot has changed in the five decades since Gruden was hired.
We are not going to assert that the exes and ohs here; what matters to people is that Callahans approach is preventing us from advocating theover. Theres a total of 41 points about the NFL likelihood plank at that time, however, theabove would have been riskier than the projections suggest, as a result of Miamis tanking. Callahans plans make it more difficult.
That leaves Washington from the spread. We are recommending a stake in this scenario that is murky, however with Miami on pace to get a 0-16 year — and three additional winless teams to allow these to out-suck, such as Washington — a fun-sized wager on the road team looks perfectly reasonable here.
