‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 12 Episode 14 Betting Odds

–‘America’s Got Talent’ has returned for the 12th year on NBC.
–This is the second live show of the season after 12 weeks of taped footage.
–Episode Thirteen will air Tuesday, August 22 at 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
The SPORTS BETTING EXPERTS policy of’America’s Got Talent’ will probably be at full force during the remainder of Season 12. This is the second live show after 12 months of taped audition footage and the format will continue for the rest of the season. The live broadcasts emanate in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The format at this stage –the’quarterfinals’ is that the best 7 acts out of tonight’s competition will advance. 7 acts innovative in Week 13 and the odds below have been updated to reflect that.
As we mentioned at the beginning of our’AGT’ coverage earlier this Summer there’s no set number of finalists. You’d hear the word’Closing 36′ chucked around often but today that the smoke has cleared we’re left with 33 contestants remaining. Broadly speaking,’America’s Got Talent’ utilizes the recognizable reality show format which mixes the result of the judges’ ratings with an audience answer component. There are a Couple of spins, however, that have become a recurring feature of this series but also could be altered at any time:
–The XAs you’ve probably surmised, the’X’ is bad news for contestants. The X is symbolic of a judge’s intense disapproval of a performance. It functions in much the exact same manner as the’gong’ on’The Gong Show’. Only one judge’s’gong’ could end an act’s operation on’The Gong Show’ but on’America’s Got Talent’ it requires an’X’ from every judge. In most cases, it follows that the act gets’the hook’ and is eliminated from further competition but there are some exceptions.
–The Golden Buzzer: The’Golden Buzzer’ was introduced in Season two and conveys god-like powers of salvation to the judges. Each judge can use one’Golden Buzzer’ per time but when they perform here’s what happens–the act in question can’t be eliminated regardless of the amount of’X’s’ and more significantly they advance right to the live show. It must be said that the host of this series enjoys this awesome responsibility along with the four judges.
–Audience Reaction: The viewing audience does not have some god-like forces of salvation such as conveyed from the’Golden Buzzer’ but they do have the capability to influence a judge’s vote with their reaction to a performance. Actually, because reality shows don’t have any difficulty making up or modifying the rules as they go along a solid’pop’ from the crowd can save yourself an act from elimination.
SEASON TWELVE SPECIFICS
The host for Season Twelve is former supermodel Tyra Banks. This is her first time as host replacing Nick Cannon who had held the position for the previous eight seasons. Originally, it was announced that Cannon will be returning Twelve but a nasty show biz spat between himself, NBC and the show’s producers left him on the workouts. Here’s the narrative –Cannon announced in mid-February that he would be resigning as host mentioning the old standby’creative differences’. Some media wags indicated it was a’you can not fire me because I quit’ situation. Cannon had allegedly made disparaging remarks about NBC in his Showtime standup special. NBC refused to take Cannon’s resignation and there was some speculation he would be sued for violation of contract. Ultimately, cooler heads prevailed and the network settled on Banks. The four candidates are familiar faces on the reality show circuit and return for the next season as a group. They’re Mel B (aka the artist formerly known as’Scary Spice’ in the Spice Girls), Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell. Guaranteed a spot in the last 36 (or whatever number stays at the beginning of live programming). They are the only contestants which have far advanced out of the audition stage.
‘America’s Got Talent’ was a big ratings winner for NBC in Season 12. As we’d expected, the yield of the live shows gave an already dominant program a larger boost in the evaluation. ‘AGT’ resisted the contest on Tuesday night at the timeslot and for the whole evening. Nothing else was even close. ‘America’s Got Talent’ turned in a 2.8 rating with an 11 share bringing 13.44 million viewers. The second area show was CBS”NCIS’–also in the 8 PM timeslot–that turned in a 0.6 rating, a three share and 5.74 million audiences.
