It was a stunning performance from McIlroy who obtained quite a bit of flack during the season for apparently not being the athlete.
He did have a couple tournaments at which it seemed he was possibly in route but faltered and fell far down the leaderboard.
We seem to remember the negatives first, however.
When you look at the number of tournaments he competed in (19) and also the total sum of top ten finishes he’d (14), it attracts what was his best season ever into focus.
He is easily the favorite as you may imagine and while we can not write off him, I’m not going to go all-in him either.
