Adhering to the fall-out out of the incidents in Sofia of Monday, directors had their say whether Gareth Southgate would have been justified in allowing his players to walk off the pitch in Sofia and have shared their views with Sky Sports News.
Jurgen Klopp:We didnt talk about it, and the players did not come up with it. I thought they dealt really well with the situation. It was just like there wasnt any game, after everybody talked about it. Actually was a match, and that the sensational response was shown by the players . You wish to reveal the reaction and can make them suffer in the right way.
In the end its not important who laughs first, its important who laughs last and it was obviously the England players. There wasnt any impact on the remainder and the performance we do not have to talk [about], its disgusting. Nobody wants to hear that and see that.
Steven Gerrard:I was really proud. I thought they handled themselves Harry Kane revealed Gareth and immense leadership as well. It was disgusting, it had been a disgrace. I thought they did the ideal thing winning the match and staying and demonstrating a point like that. But I thought they managed their responsibilities and the protocol out there amazingly well.
As an Englishman and an ex-player I had been ever so proud. Ive been in the place myself with Rhian Brewster using Liverpool U19s and I believe that the important thing in the time would be to hear both players and everything they would like to do and respond from there.
Pep Guardiola:I believe UEFA created a step forward. The match was stopped by them two times or three times. Fight with daily with this present situation. Everything we are doing or will do to help to eradicate it is welcome. Manager and the players are not alone, everybody else is concerned. Whatever we decidewe can perform.
Brendan Rodgers:I believed Gareth and his staff and players were good. Theyve made it very clear that there is likely to be a stance now. We have not seen them put in position although we have heard about sanctions. Within this society, players should not need to be exposed to that.
I was proud watching themwhen I watched a bunch of young guys fighting for their team-mates that were being abused. I felt proud watching it that this could be the start of a position because we are attempting to eradicate [it]. Hopefully, that may be the beginning. It is something that we cant endure for.
Frank Lampard in his own experience:I went with England in specific parts of Europe and felt that which we felt, and maybe did not talk about sufficient. I believe the body and the businesses have to produce a thing, I dont think individual players should really be relied on to be earning steps.
How England dealt by it, from boss through personnel through players was something really excellent to see. It is not that the end of the story however, I believe it demonstrates that were moving in the right direction and it must continue.
Eddie Howe:Personally, I dont think I would have achieved [taken players off of the pitch]. I believe performing and demonstrating and playing with the sport your abilities that are best is the ideal method. I think that the players wish to play with well and I think that showed.
Its only my opinion but I do not believe you would like to observe the match stopped and virtually permit that vile abuse to win, but its a significant topic of conversation and everyone is going to have a different view, thats only my ideas.
Roy Hodgson:I thought they were magnificent. I thought they did everything . I really dont know if anything more could have been obtained by them coming off the pitch. When folks are working to upset you like this by racially abusing you, in certain ways you can not get a much better way than England beating them just like they did, however I dont think there could have been some more publicity
Nuno Espirito Santo:I believe in football, the institutions and governments have to do everything that they can to totally eliminate racism, but its a societal issue. However, with footballs durability and strength, I believe of the items people can do to stop it, I encourage. Until the moment it as folks dont stop, it will continue. I hope and truly believe together with the upcoming generations it will be finished.
Graham Potter:I did not see the game to be fair but pretty much like everyone else [I think] its sad, really sad. Unfortunately it is a society problem as much since its a football issue but it is something that we do not want to see naturally. And obviously as a club are totally supportive of any effort to instruct and also make sure we dont have to witness these sort of events.
Ralph Hasenhuttl:I think that its absolutely the right thing to show a quite difficult shoulder to get racism. If supporters show this habit it is the only means to prevent it I believe is to be as difficult as possible against countries clubs or teams against. Dont deny it, dont look away, look It directly in the eye and say,it is not okay, we have to shift it. As it is a platform where you are able to show this and also we have to be quite rigorous and very difficult to keep this from the scene.
Mauricio Pochettino discussing Harry Kanes conduct as captain at Sofia:Obviously when youre on the touchline you want to understand the players constantly have rights and it is difficult to be in their position, understand how they feel if they suffer abuse like this. Thats why I will support my own players.
Harry managed everything perfectly, I want to congratulate him. He was calm, the situation has been under management. He showed great maturity in these scenarios which are not always easy to control.
Dean Smith praised Tyrone Mings for making his England debut in these challenging circumstances:Hes come back here and trained, got on with things as regular and not actually said a lot about it. I can sing his praises. When we talk to them and look at players and go we understand what they are likely to bring football-wise, however its character that you are searching to discover, that character about. Me and JT went to meet with him he amazed us. Having met with himbrought him here on loan and signed him weve seen him and it doesnt surprise me the way he handled the entire situation. Hes articulate, smart and quite a good human being as well.
