The European Poker Tour continues to chug along in 2019 with a stop in Barcelona pulling in record amounts to the long-running poker tour.
The nearly two-week poker festival started with the 1,100 National Championship drawing on a listing 4,682 entries to create a prize pool of $4.5 million.
Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the program, Swedish poker player Simon Brandstrom outlasted 1,988 entries in the $5,300 Main Event to take a first-place trophy of $ 1,290,166 down. The Main Event was the biggest in the history.
Barcelona FC celebrities Arturo Vidal along with Gerard Piqu?? both managed to cash in the 25,000 Single-Day High Roller while playing on home turf.
This was all in addition to the surprise announcement of the PokerStars NL Hold’em Players Championship (PSPC), that will occur as part of EPT Barcelona at 2020.
Swedish poker ace Simon Brandstrom is the largest Event winner in EPT Barcelona’s background.
Brandstrom outlasted nearly 2,000 entries to take down an astonishing $1.29 million. It’d have been even more had he made a heads-up cope with Hungarian poker pro Marton Czuczor, who salvaged $1.25 million for his efforts.
The last table included English specialist Kully Sidhu and Swedish poker ace Johan Storakers. The table was one of the fastest in the background of the EPT as it required just one hour to go from six players.
Play on for 2 more hours until Brandstrom was able to finally land the knockout punch.

The success stories are few and far between although There’s a very lengthy history of athletes playing with poker.
Gerard Piqu?? are one of the exceptions.
Last week, the world-renowned Spanish footballer finished second in the elite $ Hold’em Top Roller tournament at EPT Barcelona.
The $25k tournament drew a number of the greatest poker players on the planet but Piqu?? found a means around every single one of them except for ultimate winner Juan Dominguez.
He appears to be advancing although it had been the single biggest cash in Piqu??’s poker career. Back in 2017 he finished fifth at the specific same tournament. In total, he’s $668,155 in tournament earnings.
What is most impressive about the success in the poker table of Piqu?? is that he is doing it while playing football at a world-class level. Until their athletic careers are finished athletes don’t get into poker. Not so for Piqu??, who is managed to match EPT Barcelona into his schedule since 2011.
Interestingly, Piqu?? was not even the sole Barcelona FC player as teammate Arturo Vidal completed fifth to get home $134,460, to cash in the $25k High Roller.
