Gareth Southgate: England must cut out individual mistakes after ‘bizarre’ Kosovo encounter

Gareth Southgate has cautioned his England players they must cut out the individual mistakes following their”eccentric” encounter with Kosovo.
A catastrophic first-half revealing from Southgate’s guys was sufficient to repel a Kosovo 5-3 in St Mary’s at a pulsating European Qualifier.
England responded scoring five goals in the opening 45 minutes two defensive lapses let their competitions a way back into the match after falling behind after only 35 seconds to Valon Berisha.
The England manager praised his young team’s capacity but surrendered the mistakes must eliminate in the back.
“It was weird,” he explained.
“The outstanding aspects and the bad features are obvious for everyone. We left a bad start and bad mistakes but showed good composure to recoup from these mistakes. Our usage of the chunk in the first half has been exceptional.”
He added on Sky Sports News:”The game should really be completed at half-time, clearly, but when teams start to lose leads then there is another feel about the stadium as well as the opposition don’t have anything to lose so can opt for it, and we just have ourselves to blame for this. They were errors, not structural issues for us but person mistakes and conclusions.
“It set Kosovo back into the match and at 5-3 we’d some extended ownership and actually calmed down the game. There has been a long departure movement that caused the punishment, which was our chance to really set the match. Unfortunately, we didn’t take that this time, but we managed to see the game out fairly well from there.”
It was a functionality from the men of Southgate who had been at times scintillating going forward in the period before the break after havoc was caused by Jadon and Sterling Sancho as England.
Kosovo trainer Bernard Challandes hailed Sterling as”among the finest on earth” following his operation although Sancho took his opportunity with open arms, netting his first foreign objectives.
Southgate had high praise for those both.
He explained:”The forward play was exceptional occasionally…Sterling’s performances are of the maximum level. He had been almost unstoppable. His awareness of where defenders are and his capacity to ride challenges, his vision and desire to get in on goal. I could not speak highly enough of him.
Southgate added on Sancho:”We all know we’ve got such great attacking ability. We’re really happy with Marcus [Rashford] in the weekend. Jadon is a type of player. He showed his equilibrium and his ability to conquer people was shown by him. He works really tough for the group without the ball, which is valuable to how we play, and that he was rewarded with his first goals for England that’s a unique moment for him.”
