I start recalling those weekends that are long-ago in Atlantic City and sometimes stroll by.
The??Hilton??(one of many former names for the home ) was my destination of choice. Those dishes at Peregrines and The Oaks are tough to overlook.
I still recall my brief meeting with the late James Gandolfini??(aka??Tony Soprano) together with the cast from the hit HBO??series The Sopranos. It was 2006 and the Atlantic Club, along with the majority of the resort city, has been enjoying a few years of stability.
The Club was your casino hotel with slots and table games, and yet it provided an escape from the crowds that may easily conquer boardwalk and the beaches north. Especially in the summermonths.
Nowadays, its best??known??for being the very first of four Atlantic City casinos to close in 2014.
However, Atlantic Clubs destiny could soon change for the better.
The Associated Press reported Monday that Atlantic Club had found a new owner. Colosseo Atlantic City Inc., a New York City-based investment and building company,??purchased it from TJM Properties. The purchase price wasnt disclosed.
The information does make me wonder if that will be the deal that attracts the Atlantic Club back , although it is not the closed casino made in AC.
And if that does occur, will the home that is reborn work well in Atlantic City?
After several unsuccessful attempts to market the 800-room property, it appears like TJM (operator and owner of their Claridge Hotel) eventually found a suitable buyer.
We have made every attempt to find a buyer who could realize the potential of this Atlantic Club Casino Hotel, said??Matt Bradley, among the heads of operations and development for both TJM who handled the sale.
The owner did not elaborate on certain plans. Allowing the hotel sit vacant for another five years does not appear to be at the cards.

For the very first time since 2014, its looking like there may be hope for The Atlantic Club (or whatever they decide to call it).
And we arent talking about that being used to film scenes for Zack Snyders upcoming Army of the Dead film.??
But details about conveniences, number of rooms, and the redesign have to be declared. That will cause me to wait a little if I will be fair. After all, we waited to re-open Revel for years for Glenn Straub.
Is that it will be a resort due to a deed restriction placed on the property. And should that project come to fruition, Stockton University visitors may take advantage of their close proximity.
With regards to what makes sense for the owner and customers, Pandit stated a facility??notion could be a win-win.
Something which is part hotel and part luxury condo could allow residents to have access to valet parking, health club and spa, the restaurants, and area service supplies.??
Because the old Hilton did Can it produce fresh memories? Likely not.
But for Atlantic City, in case it is going to set up itself as more of a destination, bringing back vacant hotels is a fantastic start. No one likes an eye-sore.
