Ben Youngs says England want ‘no regrets’ from World Cup in Japan

Ben Youngs states England have decided to ensure that there are”no regrets” in the World Cup in Japan as the scrum-half pledged to refund Eddie Jones’ backing.
The 30-year-old is set to incorporate in his third World Cup and England are seen among the tournament favourites before the opener from Tonga on Sunday.
Youngs surrendered Billy Vunipola’s telephone at their official ceremony to his team-mates to make memories of a lifetime, four years from their disappointing tournament on home soil.
“We want to love it. We wish to have no regrets,” said Youngs, that is England’s most seasoned squad member with Dan Cole.
“We want to make it an awesome adventure on the pitch but also off it.”
Youngs, who is one of two scrum-halves along with Willi Heinz at Jones’ group, has been singled out by Jones as a player who might emerge to maintain the largest influence on the chances of their side.
The Leicester Tigers back believes time from the match to the end of the Premiership season with a shoulder injury has enabled him to arrive in the World Cup in the very best shape.
“Physically, I do feel really good. I had a very long lay-off which gave me the opportunity to work in my physical fitnesscenter,” he explained.
“I had an edge in turning to camp emotionally fresh but physically good too. I only need to be part of the group.
“It’s nice for Eddie to back me to carry out. Hopefully I can back up his words.”
The World Cup begins with hosts Japan, on Friday to confront Russia, and Youngs admits the squad are itching to begin their effort against Tonga, who they also faced to 2007 in the pool stages on their run.
“It has been a long time. You just sense the group is very enthusiastic,” Youngs said.
“It is precisely exactly the same for each other group that’s here. We’ve been building up to this for a long moment.
“So has another nation so we’re so excited as I’m sure Tonga are to escape there. You want to kick off the tournament.
“We’ve got to wait a day or two while everybody else is playing come Sunday we will be ready as a facet and we are very much looking forward to getting our campaign underway.”
