Danny Cowley describes Huddersfield as ‘perfect opportunity’

Danny Cowley says Huddersfield signifies the”best opportunity” for his next step in management and insists that the”simple” alternative would have been to remain at Lincoln.
The 40-year-old signed up a three-year bargain alongside his brother along with assistant manager Nicky at the John Smith’s Stadium to replace head coach Jan Siewert in the Championship club Monday.
Cowley will bid to arrest the bad form, with the Terriers second of Huddersfield from bottom in the league and directed Lincoln.
“You have a take a look at the present status in the Championship and respect that it has been a very difficult period for the soccer club but that actually excites me as we enjoy a struggle,” said Cowley.
“We always believed that the next move would need to be the perfect opportunity and we see this really is the perfect opportunity. We feel we could add value here.
“The chance to function as managers instead of head coach is very important to us since that’s how we have always functioned. It’s always about construction.”
Huddersfield, who had been relegated from the Premier League last season, haven’t won in 17 matches in all competitions and have been beaten by Lincoln at Carabao Cup last month.
Cowley initially turned down the opportunity to talk to Huddersfield concerning the vacancy but later took the task because of the assurance the brothers would have a function in shaping the club’s progress.
“I consider the task facing us and can’t wait to begin,” Cowley added.
“We want to be challenged. I want to live life. The alternative would have been to remain a club felt a relationship with and loved, at Lincoln.
“It’d have been a whole lot easier to remain but we aren’t interested in simple decisions. We want to examine ourselves.”
Cowley will start his Huddersfield tenure against Sheffield Wednesday, who will have Gary Monk in the dugout on Sunday, for the first time – live on Sky Sports.
“The short term aims would be to discover a way to play winning football but also for us it’s to become a long-term endeavor,” Cowley said.
“Winning on Saturday is not sufficient for me. It is all about winning winning. We are clear about the vision for Huddersfield Town. We know where we want to go.”
Cowley added that he along with his brother come as a couple, with worked together at Concord and Braintree.
“We’re utilized to operating together,” he said. “We have lived our lives in each others’ pockets. We’re distinct characters but are aligned about the procedures. Above all we have trust.”
