Jane Philpott faces long odds of re-election

On Monday, we presented a poll demonstrating that Jody Wilson-Raybould was now competitive as an Independent candidate in the district of Vancouver Granville. These days, we take a look at fellow Independent Jane Philpott’s district of Markham-Stouffville, a suburb of Toronto located in the vital GTA region of Ontario.
In 2015, Philpott won the recently established district of Markham-Stouffville by six points over her Conservative opponent in a clear two-way race between the Liberals and Conservatives (the Greens and NDP won a combined eight percent of the vote). It might therefore be wise to put in the hypothesis that, with Philpott running as an Independent following fall, a split Liberal-Philpott vote might potentially open up the opportunity for a somewhat simple Conservative win.
However a new survey that was exclusive conducted by Mainstreet Research and commissioned by 338Canada. Com shows the race in Markham-Stouffville could be thought. It also reveals Philpott facing long odds to acquire re-election, sitting well back of the front-running Liberals and second-place Conservatives.
The poll gathered voting intentions of 601 voters in Markham-Stouffville and was conducted between May 30 and May 29. This is a sample with a margin of error of ??4 per cent, 19 times out of 20. The complete report of the poll can be obtained here.
To the question:”If the federal election were held now, which party would you vote ?” Respondents were given the following options:
Liberal Conservative, led by Andrew Scheer NDP, led by Jagmeet Singh Green Separate candidate Jane Philpott
