Joey Carbery withdrawn from Ireland’s World Cup game against Russia

Conor Murray replaced Joey Carbery on the Seat of Ireland for the Rugby World Cup Battle with Russia.

Fly-half Carbery was due to cover scrum-half in the bench in the third Pool C experience of Ireland, but suffered ankle irritation on Wednesday in training.
Carbery suffered his initial shoulder injury on August 10 in Ireland win over Italy, but fought back to generate the World Cup and featured off the seat in Ireland’s 19-12 loss to Japan last weekend.
However, now that the 23-year-old has suffered a setback and Ireland chose not to risk him against the Russians.
