Week 3 of the 2019 NFL preseason comes with a game between the Pittsburgh Steelers to a stop on Sunday night and favorite Tennessee Titans in Nashville.

We’re all used to viewing NFL action on Sundays, right? Well, one Sunday game of the preseason in Week 3 and it will be the last afternoon of Sunday NFL till Week 1 of the regular season. That’s because all groups play on Thursday of this exhibition schedule in Week 4. The Pittsburgh Steelers visit Week 3 to be closed out by the Tennessee Titans.
Both missed the playoffs and ended last regular season. The Titans would have promised a Wild-Card spot if they had won Week 17 at home vs. Indianapolis, but the Colts were certainly exceptional and rolled to a 33-17 victory. Beginning Titans QB Marcus Mariota missed the game injured and Blaine Gabbert was awful in his place.
Pittsburgh needed a Baltimore property loss to Cleveland and a Week 17 win over Cincinnati for the Steelers to choose the AFC North. Pittsburgh did its job with a 16-13 victory — without prior star receiver Antonio Brown in his final act of defiance. However, the Ravens didn’t cooperate with a win over the Browns.
Despite not enjoying starting QB Ben Roethlisberger steelers coach Mike Tomlin is a in his preseason livelihood and 2-0 this season. The Steelers played their first two at home, edging Tampa Bay 30-28 at Week 1 final week, and then beating Kansas City 17-7. Transferring by the history of Tomlin, Big Ben and a bit ought to play . Mason Rudolph and joshua Dobbs are competing for the copy project, with covering the Steelers believing Rudolph is currently top.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel is 1-1 this season — Tennessee has yet to acquire a house exhibition game. The Titans were first Week 1 winners in Philadelphia 27-10 and subsequently lost 22-17 at home to New England a week but led all the match. A late TD pass won it . The Titans first-team crime along with mariota has played four series so far but would the entire first half of the one.
Leading has yet to play in the preseason because of a calf injury but did come back this past week to practice. Not clear if that means that he would go in this one. No. 1 tight end Delanie Walker broke his ankle in Week 1 final year and hadn’t played last week at the Patriots. He even caught a TD pass by Mariota. The Titans’ offense isn’t the same with Walker, the best tight end in franchise history. Meanwhile, the Mariota’s backup Ryan Tannehill continues to be great this preseason having a 130.8 passer rating, completing 19 of 27 for 214 yards. Some believe he might slip the job at any point this year out of Mariota.
These groups played in the 2018 preseason, too. The Steelers won 16-6. Big Ben, which makes his preseason debut of’18, was 11-for-18 for 114 yards and a touchdown. Mariota was 5-for-8 for 43 yards and a choice and didn’t play a lot. He overlooked wide-open Corey Davis for what would have been a very long touchdown on the opening drive of Tennessee.
We are going to take the Titans here as I’m certain they’d like to finish that house preseason losing series.
