The Baltimore Ravens look to expand among the NFL preseason when they see the Philadelphia Eagles, winning streaks in history on Thursday. Can it last?

This writer will actually care less about the NFL preseason, but we understand you are going to wager on these games so I will be previewing a handful of these in Week 3. We should see some slightly bigger spreads this week as Week 3 is generally when coaches will perform their starters the most — frequently the whole first half and sometimes one series in the next quarter. But more and more trainers are being extra careful with their starting quarterbacks and not playing them.
I do have a fair amount of curiosity about Thursday’s Ravens at Eagles matchup simply because Baltimore is on a 15-game preseason winning series. Yep, you read that right: 15 freaking games! That’s just impossible. It’s the preseason winning streak in NFL history. I read somewhere the Packers won something like 23 directly from 1959-63, however that I couldn’t independently confirm that. Not exactly easy to find preseason documents.
The calling card for Baltimore through this series was defense. The Ravens have allowed at least 20 points only once in that span — Week 4 of last year when they defeat the visiting Redskins 30-20. In Week 1 the Ravens battered the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-0 and held the Jags. Last week, Baltimore beat Green Bay 26-13 and held the Packers to 226 metres. It obviously helped that the Jags (Nick Foles) nor Packers (Aaron Rodgers) played their starting quarterback.
“We will just need to see [Brown’s surgically repaired foot] reacts and hopefully he can go there,” Harbaugh said.
Eagles trainer Doug Pederson has to play with his starting quarterback Carson Wentz that this preseason, and as of today, it is not clear when he will on Thursday. I would lean toward no just because Philly already has noticed two copies go down to injury from Nate Sudfeld (wrist) and Cody Kessler (concussion). Pederson does not wish to risk Wentz. It enticed Josh McCown from retirement, because the team is so thin in the place. He was defined as an ESPN analyst this year.
This is McCown’s 17th season and the Eagles that his 11th team (initially in the NFC East). McCown is one of seven players in NFL history to try a pass to seven different teams. Miami’s Ryan Fitzpatrick is among them. No QB has thrown a pass for eight teams at a regular-season game.
Philly has split its two preseason games and Pederson is 8-6 in these (8-6 ATS too ). We’re sticking with the Ravens till Harbaugh loses a dang match. I’d shop around to get the Ravens.
