Do Not blame Jay Gruden.
He did the best of what he needed to work with in D.C., and exactly what he had was taken away by accidents and budget-cutting. Gruden is nonetheless this seasons first head coaching casualty from the NFL; Bill Callahan will likely be under the headset this Sunday once Washington visit the Miami Dolphins (1:00 p.m. ET, FOX).
Talk about easing into a Function. The Dolphins (0-4 SU and ATS) are tanking the 2019 season away, so as badly as Washington (0-5 SU, 1-4 ATS) have played with this season, they are likely at our NFL picks for Week as 3.5-point street faves. Its a moral imperative.

Messed up really. It is the Dolphins, though; their usage of three different quarterbacks has thrown off the numbers of Washington. Case Keenum was playing slightly above league average (as stated by the DVOA stats at Football Outsiders) before injuring his foot early in Week 4 — much to our chagrin here at the home office. Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy were both horrible.
This comes the cavalry: though nothings been made official at press time Keenum is anticipated to begin this Sunday. He may have been booed by the home crowd, but Keenum is not the issue here — and that vitriol adds to Washington value.
Not that he will be asked to do considerably. Callahan says hes going to put some into the offense, asserting Grudens pass-happy manners were excessive. Was not the NFL assumed to be a death league? A lot has changed in the five years because Gruden was hired.
Were not likely to assert that the exes and ohs here; what matters to us is that Callahans approach is keeping us from advocating theover There is a total of 41 points on the NFL chances plank at the time, however, theover would have been riskier than the projections suggest, thanks to Miamis tanking. The plans of callahan make it more difficult.
That leaves Washington against the spread. We are advocating a stake in this situation, however with Miami on pace to get a 0-16 season — and 3 other winless teams to allow these to out-suck, including Washington — a wager on the road team appears absolutely reasonable here.
