Siskin has been Contributed the green light week to Participate in a renewal of This Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday by ger Lyons.
Unbeaten in four starts and a Group One winner Siskin is place to fulfill Charlie Appleby’s hugely-impressive Aidan O’Brien’s and Goodwood scorer Pinatubo Armory.
“He’s in excellent form and he’s being pushed by his trainer using the National Stakes on Sunday week at mind, even though I would be very worried shooting on Pinatubo!” Lyons told www.irishchampionsweekend.ie.
“He was exceptionally impressive at Goodwood, however Siskin includes a Group One win under his belt, even though he is a good piece below three of them on ratings and evaluations don’t lie.
“Nevertheless, he only did what he had been asked to perform, and I have been very happy with him. I’d have no difficulty on nice ground carrying on anyone on seven furlongs and whatever beats Pinatubo will probably be champion two-year-old.”
Siskin coped with earth for the first time last time out and Lyons confessed to being surprised.
“He has impressed me. The Phoenix was a case of no horse really liking the ground, but everybody was telling me he would fight it because of his pedigree and in the vehicle park ahead I was getting worried,” explained Lyons.
“I hadn’t ever really thought about it a lot beforehand to be honest, but a great deal of people were talking about the floor. He showed a wonderful attitude as well as all going well, he is trained as a Guineas horse next season.”
In terms of his other huge hope over the weekend, Who’s Steph in the Moyglare”Jewels” Blandford Stakes, Lyons would have to see lots of rain to let her take her opportunity.
“She’s perhaps my favourite horse in the lawn, but it is rare enough she gets her floor. She isn’t quite a Group One filly andin that league, everything needs to be in her favor,” he said.
“She would really want it soft to thick or thick,”
