Two Liverpool fans are attacked in Naples ahead of the Reds’ Champions League group-stage fixture against Napoli, based on Merseyside Police.
There have been problems with fan violence prior to the match, although liverpool will start their Champions League defence on Tuesday in Italy.
Merseyside Police have confirmed two men.
The police statement read:”At approximately 6pm local time (5pm GMT), it had been reported a range of males on scooters approached the enthusiasts in a pub in the city before attacking them.
“Two guys from the UK, dated 26 and 46, sustained superficial cuts and grazes to the head and have been treated at the scene prior to continued to attend the game.
“Local authorities are aware and Merseyside Police are operating together with authorities officer in Naples to aid in the policing of the Champions League fixture”
