Tyson Fury says he is prepared to place a blockbuster fight with Anthony Joshua to a side, if the former heavyweight winner is not able to recover his straps at a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr..
Fury is hoping to make light work of Otto Wallin on Saturday and pave the way for his world heavyweight rematch using Deontay Wilder, however, is already thinking past that to a potential unification bout.
Fury is ready to face either fighter, although Joshua is confident of getting revenge when the pair meet in Saudi Arabia on December 7, now live on Sky Sports Box Office after enduring his first pro defeat in the hands of Ruiz Jr in June.
“When he (Anthony Joshua) moves in there and gets hauled back out by Ruiz, then fair play to Ruiz. Who cares? You understand, I will just fight Ruiz. One hundred percent.
“I’m not concerned because anything happens in life happens and we can not change it anyway. Thus, with every negative, there’s a positive.”
Speaking about the weekend’s opponent Wallin, Fury included:”It’s another challenge, distinct opponent, distinct style and styles do create fights.
“This man’s 6’6”, left-handed southpaw. It is probably going to be a challenge. Every fight differs, not all struggles, 1 struggle, is precisely the same.
“So, we approach every battle (using a) distinct game plan, but if we are in there for the first minute or so, I will know just what to do with Otto Wallin.”
Wallin is seeking to Ruiz for inspiration and is currently really hoping to spring a surprise outcome.
“Just examine the other struggles such as Andy Ruiz-Joshua. Mike Tyson, he was not supposed to have beat. He got defeat from Buster Douglas.
“We experienced a guy, Ingemar Johansson, sixty years back he came over to New York and beat Floyd Patterson. He had been a enormous underdog and he is beaten by him. It can occur at any moment. So tune in and don’t blink.”
Saturday morning at 2am, live on Sky Sports Action – Devin Haney vs Zaur Abdullaev, Heather Hardy vs Amanda Serrano, Michael Hunter vs Sergey Kuzmin.
