A hat-trick from Janine Beckie assisted Manchester City into a triumph over Lugano to secure their place in the Women’s Champions League.
Leading City picked up where they left off at Switzerland – Beckie lifting over the keeper following a pass from Keira Walsh.
The Canada striker caught at the conclusion of a low Walsh overhaul to make it 2-0 and after lashed into finish her treble.
Sub Pauline Bremer rounded the horn to wrap up an 11-1 aggregate victory.
Last year’s Swiss league runners-up provided little resistance, together with City manager Nick Cushing able to shoot off Walsh and England skipper Steph Houghton on the 55-minute mark, soon after the third aim of Beckie.
The result signifies City improved their efforts in the competition last year, even when Atletico Madrid knocked out in the last 32 them.
Elsewhere, England winger Nikita Parris scored as a victory to be completed by holders Lyon thrashed Russian side Ryazan 7-0.
The two City and Lyon will be seeded with all the matches to be performed on 30-31 and the 16-17 October, in Monday’s last-16 draw.
